This article examines the role of the tourism sector in the economic development
of a country from both theoretical and practical perspectives. It analyzes the impact of tourism on
gross domestic product (GDP), its contribution to employment, and its importance in attracting
investments. Additionally, the experiences of France and Egypt in developing tourism are studied,
highlighting their economic efficiency and associated risks. The findings indicate that tourism is a
significant driver of economic growth, and its sustainable development is essential for ensuring
long-term economic stability.
