This article provides a detailed analysis of the main directions of digitalization in
the tourism sector. The author explores key trends in this field, with a particular focus on the
evolution of the "Smart Tourism" concept and the theoretical foundations for implementing Industry
4.0 technologies within the "Tourism 4.0" framework. The study examines the formation of digital
ecosystems and their direct impact on enhancing the competitiveness of tourism destinations. Based
on an analysis of the perspectives of leading scholars, the article provides an assessment of the
current state of tourism industry digitalization processes in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
