KNOWLEDGE ECONOMY AND ITS PROSPECTS FOR STUDENT DEVELOPMENT
Iroda Hojiyeva

The knowledge economy is reshaping how we think about work, education, and personal development. Unlike traditional economies driven by physical labor and raw materials, the knowledge economy thrives on intellectual capital, innovation, and the ability to apply new information effectively. For students, this presents both incredible opportunities and serious challenges. While there is an unprecedented demand for adaptable, critical thinkers with digital and analytical skills, many educational institutions still operate with outdated models that do not fully equip students for this shift. This paper explores the knowledge economy’s impact on students, addressing key questions: What skills are most valuable? How should education evolve to meet new demands? What obstacles do students face in preparing for this rapidly changing landscape? By examining real-world examples, academic research, and insights from industry leaders, this study highlights actionable steps that students, educators, and policymakers can take to bridge the gap between traditional education and the dynamic needs of the knowledge-driven world.

MATERIAL LIVING CONDITIONS AND THEIR ROLE IN HUMAN CAPITAL REPRODUCTION IN UZBEKISTAN
Sabina Kholbaeva

In modern socio-economic theories, human capital is recognized as the most important resource for sustainable development. Human capital is a labor force with innate, formed and accumulated knowledge, skills, abilities and health, which, when used in the labor process, provide certain benefits to its owner in the form of income and the economy of the country as a whole. However, it is often ignored that the individual's ability to accumulate this capital is not equal and directly depends on the conditions of his existence, the economic environment in which he lives and operates. In this article, we will look at how material conditions determine the possibilities of forming and implementing human capital, and how this affects the economy as a whole.

THE CAUSAL RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT AND ECONOMIC GROWTH IN TURKEY: A TODA–YAMAMOTO ANALYSIS
Ulvi UZUN Yilmaz

This study investigates the causal impact of foreign direct investment (FDI) on economic growth in Turkey using annual time series data spanning the period 1980–2020. Economic growth is proxied by real per capita gross domestic product (GDP). The dataset was sourced from internationally reputable institutions such as the World Bank and TurkStat, and all variables were log-transformed to ensure suitability for statistical analysis. Due to the presence of variables with different orders of integration, the Toda–Yamamoto causality approach—robust to variables with mixed integration orders—was employed. The stationarity of the series was tested using the Augmented Dickey-Fuller and Phillips-Perron tests, while the optimal lag length was determined based on information criteria. Diagnostic tests for autocorrelation, heteroskedasticity, and structural stability were conducted to ensure model adequacy. The empirical findings reveal a statistically significant unidirectional causality running from FDI to economic growth at the 1% significance level, with no evidence of reverse causality. These results indicate that FDI functions not only as a source of external capital, but also as a strategic driver of growth by enhancing productivity, facilitating knowledge and technology transfer, and driving structural transformation. By incorporating a long-term dataset and accounting for the macroeconomic structure, this study offers a methodologically robust and contextually grounded contribution to the literature on the FDI-growth nexus in developing economies
