Abstract

The article examines the transition to low-carbon energy as a fundamental condition for the sustainable development of the national economy of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It considers theoretical approaches to energy transformation, international trends in renewable energy development, and the specific features of Uzbekistan’s decarbonization policy. Based on official statistical data, the study analyzes electricity production dynamics, changes in the share of green generation, investment processes, and institutional constraints within the national energy market. The results indicate that between 2020 and 2024, the share of green energy in Uzbekistan’s electricity generation increased from 7.5% to 15.7%, while the estimated volume of low-carbon electricity generation grew by more than 2.5 times
