This article studies the role and importance of statistical analysis in assessing the efficiency of the livestock sector based on economic approaches. The analysis uses dynamic series, variational indicators, correlation-regression models and regional comparison methods to study the factors determining the volume of production, productivity level and efficiency of resource use. The results of the study show that the statistical approach plays an important role in accurately assessing the real situation in livestock farming, identifying internal reserves and strengthening the economic justification of management decisions
